Trio Accanto: Exercises

Saturday, 03. November 2018, 19:30

Wiener Konzerthaus, Mozart-Saal

Christian Wolff, 1971

In 1950, when he was just 16, Christian Wolff became a student of John Cage. This year’s Wien Modern festival will feature a specially commissioned work by the eminent unconventionlist. Georg Friedrich Haas goes John Coltrane – well almost, when Marcus Weiss, Christian Dierstein and Nicolas Hodges open his new series of works »Blumenwiese« with ludicrously virtuoso runs. And John Cage’s famous »Concert for Piano and Orchestra«, (NB: »Concert« not »Concerto« ...) will be performed with a small, but nonetheless brilliant line-up – the high-precision Trio Accanto (see also 31.10.).
