Bernhard Lang and three of his longstanding musical collaborators invite you to a late night experiment between composition and interpretation in Porgy & Bess: first, three more recent solos and duos from Lang’s groundbreaking cycles, »Monadologie« and »Differenz / Wiederholung«, will be performed as they are notated. Then, the legendary British turntable specialist, Philip Jeck, will use vinyl recordings of the pieces to loop his own improvised responses to Bernhard Lang’s highly complex scores.

»Even after some 30 years of producing music, I still have the feeling that I’ve barely scratched the surface of the analogue set-up. I probably won’t live long enough to be able to exhaut all the different creative possibilities of turntables and vinyls.« (Philip Jeck 2011 in relation to a performance of Bernhard Lang’s »TablesAreTurned« at Wien Modern)
