Gerda Saiko

Gerda Saiko was born in Graz in 1982 and studied Electrotechnical Sound Engineering at TU Graz and the  University for Performing Arts and Music. She completed research internships in the field of Computer Music, among others at the Music Technology Group in Barcelona and at the Sound and Vision Processing Laboratory in Verona. Alongside this, she was a founding member of the performance collective Rabtaldirndln in 2003 and has been involved in its organisation till 2021.
From 2007 to 2016, Gerda Saiko was a part of the planning team for steirischer herbst in Graz and was its Dramaturg for Musical Theatre and Performance from 2012. During this time, she initiated and realised countless international premieres of compositions, musical theatre and dance and was an important part of the conception of regional art projects all over Styria.
Since 1st February 2016, Gerda Saiko is Production Manager of the Festival Wien Modern.
