In the Factory of the Künstlerhaus Wien – the place for discourse, experiments and interdisciplinarity by the autonomous Künstlerhaus union – the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra, founded in 2004 by Michael Fischer, presents the method and praxis of an improvisational-compositional real-time procedure. The musical presentations are realised via ad hoc conducting and interpretation with around a dozen hand signs. The potential expression and its meaning are developed by the ensemble and the Instant Composition Conductor.
