The Kandinsky Quartet was founded in Vienna in 2020 and holds a scholarship of Jeunesse Musicale Germany and Villa Musica. The four study with Johannes Meissl at the mdw and have begun their masters program with Quatuor Ébène at HMTM Munich in the winter semester of 2022–2023. At Wien Modern. they will present new works by two Peter Joyce, a native of Ireland, Dror Binder, a native of Israel, both of whom are Viennese by choice – and Lingyi Dong, who lives in Beijing, as well as Pascal Dusapin's Fifth String Quartet based on Samuel Beckett's novella Mercier et Camier.
