On this round Musikverein stage anniversary, Ensemble Kontrapunkte presents a resolutely eclectic programme that underlines this ensemble’s special position in the Viennese New Music landscape: narratively in Sânziana-Cristina Dobrovicescu's new quasi-concerto, with rough edges and the courage for noise in Clara Iannotta, theatrically in Mauricio Kagel's Finale, with opulent, beautiful sound in Claude Vivier and finally with one of the kitschiest, but also one of the greatest moments in recent music history, Gavin Bryars' Jesus' Blood never failed me yet.
