The Strasbourg-based Ensemble Linea presents itself in the Mozart Hall under the direction of its founder Jean-Philippe Wurtz, who learnt conducting from Péter Eötvös, among others, was assistant to Kent Nagano in Lyon and has conducted countless world premieres. With a major new work for voice (Johanna Vargas), electric guitar and ensemble by Clemens Gadenstätter, this evening promises to be exciting. Chaya Czernowin transforms a book her son wrote as a four-year-old into an astonishing crescendo, her former composition student Zeynep Toraman finishes a cycle of poems, and Rebecca Saunders brings an angry double bass to the stage.
