What happens when people from different countries and cultures come together and form a family? A tension between the familiar and the foreign, a relativisation of principles, identities and points of reference; an opening up to the Other. Families – like all groups – are often a symbol of closeness, protection, nest and comfort. A warm cosiness that can start to rot if it lacks fresh air and is not nourished by the "Other". This is why, with this project, we want to support the idea of the open family: a place where all members feel at home and can treat each other on the basis of affection, respect and mutual acceptance.
