With a concrete plan to get squeezed, pushed, or pulled out of our own comfort zone, the soup we like to stew in, we are letting ourselves discover pieces by many new composers in November 2020. Of course, these aren’t new to us nor the informed audience; what is new is our collaboration with them, and four out of the five compositions. The idea for this program came from Christoph Renhart, Programme Director for Music at the Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten in Graz. The choice was thus focused on composers from Graz. We count Vienna, Budapest and Mexico City as Graz and surroundings. The common factor of these pieces is the enmeshment of musical electronics, acoustic instruments and improvised parts.
