The franco-norwegian improvisation quartet Dans Les Arbres has been together since 2007. They published Volatil, their fourth album, in late 2019. Xavier Charles’s clarinet multiphones, Christian Wallumrød’s prepared piano, Ivar Grydeland’s guitars played with a bow and Ingar Zach’s nuances on the Gran Cassa come together among all the reduction to form an atmospheric and dense sound world which raises the bar for improvised music.
