The musical marble run is an analog improvisation machine. Different types of spheres roll on an inclined plane and bump into metal objects. Unlike most other marble runs, where the marbles must complete a perfect path to reach their destination, here, it is not so important to predetermine their trajectories and guarantee their arrival at the end of the run. It's not about control, but about free interaction and the unpredictability of events. Every run is different. (Elisabeth Flunger)
The sound installation Orbit consists of two motorized rotor blades mounted on a tripod. Loudspeakers attached to ropes hang from the rotor blades. When the installation is set in motion, the rotation and the resulting centrifugal force cause the speakers to move outward and gain height. Thus the loudspeakers are in continuous circular motion above the visitors. (Robert Mathy)
