PARTY MODERN: SCH:CHT [ʃɪçt]

sch:cht [ʃɪçt] aims to be a platform for musical discoveries outside the mainstream, creating space for transformative encounters between classical music and club culture since spring 2022. In its first year of existence, the event series already made an impact as a low-threshold, pluralistic giver of impulses and ideas, both for visitors and for those active in arts and culture. Classical music meets club culture. The evening at Wien Modern will start with theremin virtuoso Pamelia Stickney, who has moved to Vienna from Los Angeles, followed by the duo schtum, already making its second appearance at the festival – a tightrope walk feedback loops, sub-bass interference and noise chirping. The dance-ready finale will be provided by Antonia XM, co-founder of the label Ashida Park, who want to build an accessible platform for new, unconventional forms of club and experimental music, as well as visual and digital art.
