With this evening, Wien Modern returns to the Schömer-Haus, which regularly invited festival audiences on excursions to Klosterneuburg from 1990 to 2014. At the same time, Gerd Kühr returns to the Wien Modern programme, where his music was last heard in 2013 (but he is ever present indirectly as a teacher of Peter Jakober, Daniel Mayer, Christof Ressi and many others, as well as co-juror of the Erste Bank Composition Prize). Recently honoured with the Grand Austrian State Prize 2023, he presents his new, third string quartet at Wien Modern. To complement the complete performance of his quartets by the Pacific Quartet Vienna, he has selected works by Hannah Eisendle and Lorenzo Troiani.
